Being a watchman

Is it a blessing or a curse to be a watchman?

Given, or taken role to be a watchman of a group comes with a duty critical enough to determine a destiny of the group. Those who undertakes the role not only ought to have eyes to foresee upcoming events, particularly dangers if any, but also ought to have resolute judgements to guide the group into a right direction to avoid the foreseeable dangers.

Perhaps, some takes the role since the role is usually secured with the privileged highest spot enabling the watchperson to see further than anybody else in the region, or some are given with the role regardless of their desires. Whichever way they seize the role, they must inevitably encounter with a great obligation. Regarding this, Ezekiel chapter 33 says as follows:

"Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: 'When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. 5 Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.'

The question is, "Have the role of watchman ever been thrown upon me?"
If so, "Am I insightful enough to foresee the unknown, and am I a person who is resolute and clear minded enough to distinguish the desirables from the undesirables."
